Manchester museum sketches.

Some of the sketches i scanned in from my sketchbook during the visit to The Manchester Museum.

Visit to Manchester Museum.

I visited the manchester museum to firstly gather more information on the forms colours and sizes of the different animals that I'm trying to draw and to collect more primary research that'll back up my overall project. i found this experience helped (Even if most of the animals were badly stuffed) and i was able to expand my knowledge of the animal anatomy and actually gave me a better idea on how large animals are when compared.

i took some photos of shells for pattern and colour inspiration.

Chester zoo visit

I visited chester zoo recently, to be able to get some visual inspiration/research looking into any animals i could incorporate into my project, as well as be able to see them up close to help me develop my drawing skill.

Animal Drawings.

I started off with practicing my drawing, and developing my own personal style, i found that the more  i practiced the more confident my overall technique became allowing me to draw more freely and slowly being able to see my own style of illustration come through, i of course had to take notes from other illustrators to give me a basic outline to use, but i soon found that the less aware i am about my drawing turning out perfect the better the overall image was. i found my simpler drawing a lot more appealing then the ones i put a lot more detail and time into.

A couple of examples can be seen below.
